Greetings to all,
The city of Haifa is the metropolis of the north, whose citizens make up a modern city that provides a solution for all areas of interest for a variety of populations that are in partnership, creating a rich fabric of life in a multi-cultured environment.
In order to ensure the future of Haifa, it is important to continue establishing its stature as the “Captial of the North”, attracting regional citizens by providing a creative supply of quality, metropolitan services, such as, employment, business, higher learning, high-tech, exhibitions and tourism, advanced medical services, cultural events and entertainment, a quality educational system, municipal theater and museums, symphonic orchestra, coffee houses, restaurants and central shopping areas.
Guaranteeing the economic growth and development of the city will be accomplished by the promotion of centralized growth initiatives, creating an attractive business atmosphere, with development that is eco-friendly to the City’s surroundings.
The basis of future city development will rest upon four pillars: developing an academic city; developing a city of tourism, exhibitions and festivals; developing as a high-tech city; developing and enhancing municipal services to a level of excellence that will be efficiently provided to the citizens of the city and its entrepreneurs.
This vision of support and economic initiative, both private and public, will ensure the future of the City as a place that provides its citizens a quality of life alongside economic relief, within an active and vibrant environment, worthy of the third largest city in Israel and the northern metropolitan area.
Haifa is a city where there are no slogans, but rather, a reality. It is a city where, for over 100 years, a tradition of co-existence exists for all its ethnic and religious groups. Haifa is an integrated city in every way, where veteran citizens live alongside newcomers, religious aside secular, and Jews alongside Arabs. It is a city whose citizens have created a solid base of tolerance, dual commitment and combined goals.
Haifa has undergone a revolutionary transformation from a sleepy city of workers, whose main income was based in harbor services, heavy metal industries, oil and petro-chemical refineries, to evolve as a central, metropolitan city; urbanely new and modern, providing services to all the peripheral cities with a very wide variety of aspects.
The municipal website has been upgraded and has now become a dynamic, interactive site that is also user friendly. Every web surfer will succeed to navigate with great ease through every municipal “maze”. I am convinced that everyone that surfs our new website will be able to benefit by it, and find what he is searching for.
